Today I was happy.

Even though truthfully much of what I did was just stand around shilin’s table and watch people come and buy her stuff, still felt rather happy about finding a spot where I can stay. I tried to stand inside the booth and help her get stuff, but everytime I think the staff isn’t going to check, I get kicked out for not having a badge. I’m just so very good at jinxing myself xD I wandered around by myself for a bit in the artist alley and the dealer’s room and found my favourite voodoo dolls. Too bad they cost so much I didn’t want to buy them :( I really want one for my cellphone though. I also saw tsubasa mangas for 11 dollars each, but I think I’m just going to get the complete set in china or something. I saw Kaze-hime and poli-chan from DA… very different from how I imagined them. Holly was too busy glomping shilin to notice me xD but that’s okee. Someone realized who I am and asked me for an autograph, I was flattered hehe. Probably just riding off shilin’s popularity though lol.

The the guy sharing a table with Shilin didn’t sell much stuff. This makes me rethink about sharing a table with her next year. Maybe I will feel very defeated if I constantly compare myself with her and I know I won’t sell as much. Need to learn to be easily satisfied. :)

I cosplayed as my original character, except nobody knows about her so nobody knew who I dressed up as. Two people that I lined up with spent an hour trying to guess who i was but was too embarrassed to ask. Some random guy told me I looked like his original character so I was like o.o I’m dressing up as my own chara? But he ended up giving me a free print for dressing up so I was like yay xD I also raided shilin’s prints, thiefing a copy each hahaha. I saw a lot of really nice costumes, making me want to make my own next year so it actually fits me x) I like Lolita dress and/or flowing dresses. Gotta learn how to sew. :( If Shilin dresses up as RO then I might do Sohee. I ♥ Sohee *o*

Missed AN pre registration deadline by 1 hour and 30 minutes. I always throught Shilin didn’t want to share with me, so I never dared to ask. But either because her partner couldn’t show up or she didn’t mind me as much as I thought, I found out just now that I could share a table and it was 1 hour and 30 minutes past the pre registration deadline. Things like these just always happen to me lol. Nobody believes me when I say my luck sucks, heh. But in the end I can always twist it and call it my fault. It’s my fault that I didn’t ask earlier. I didn’t want to sound like I’m pestering people.

On a second throught I can always say I didn’t have anything to sell anyways. Might’ve been a waste of 50 dollars. Might’ve been a waste of a nice costume that someone is making for me. Might’ve been a waste of a nice weekend I can spend doing something else.

Things just never go the way I want them to go, do they? Is it because I didn’t work hard enough again?

So I’m back.

Two weeks is not nearly enough to fully enjoy myself in Shanghai. It’s completely taken up by dining out with miscellaneous relatives and friends and shopping for things I need. I didn’t even get to play with my cousins once. I remember being all excited about going back and now I’m back to Toronto already. Time flies while I’m there.

My mum is still in Shanghai, so I’m all alone in Toronto. It makes me sad looking around the empty house knowing that I’m alone. Although school started again and I moved back to dorm, it wouldn’t have made a difference whether my house is empty or full, it still makes me lonely when I think about it. I have too strong a tie to Shanghai that I constantly want to go back. Most people being here for as long as I have already grew out of their home towns and rather stay here than going back. But I’m different. My family keeps my heart there. I think I want to work there when I find a job.

Toronto doesn’t feel like home. The lack of a complete family makes this place feel temporary. I don’t completely blend in with the culture because I grasp onto my traditional ideas with a passion. I’m afraid of changes, changes feel like losses. But when I go back to Shanghai, my lack of experience the past seven years makes me feel like an outsider again. I don’t really know what’s going on there and everything’s new. I feel like I’m trapped in the middle, not really belonging to either places. It makes me lonesome. But I feel slightly more comfortable in Shanghai. My relatives at least let me know that I exist and have some importance, even if I have to bear with being overly polite in that world of pretence.

I can’t wait until the next break to go back. I don’t know when that would be. Thinking about the upcoming summer break makes me hopeful, but thinking about the potential work I have to do during that break takes that hope away. I need something to look forward to again.

On a lighter note, I will be moving soon.

Currently in Vancouver o0o! This place is freezing. My landlord is too cheap to turn on the furnace so I’m freezing in the ground-level basement. Vancouver in all of its dampness smells like rotting dumpster. ~__~

We went to Victoria Island today and paid a trip to the BC Parliment. It’s pretty nice in there :D They have this huge christmas tree 2 stories all with lots of barbles and tinsels. (sp?) Luckily today’s a workday so I got to visit the inside unlike both of the times I’ve been at the Ottawa Parliment. We also went to Burchant’s Garden. HOLY CRAP THAT’S NOT A PRIVATE GARDEN o_O!! I don’t want to imagine how much time and labour it’d take just to maintain that gignatic place. But it’s REALLY nice and I loved all the green areas in there. I love trees :D (No I’m not a tree hugger) It makes me feel peaceful just looking at them. We took Ferries there and back and one-way trip was 1.5 hours O_O! The cruise is huge though. It can contain 400 small-medium sized cars in its lower decks. The upper passenger decks has 2 coffee bars, a breakfast food court, a water-front buffet restaurant, 2 video arcades and a giftshop. o_o In other words, HUGE! (Did mention huge?) It looks super luxurious in there x) We got dropped off in front of T&T supermarket and I bought more Pocky. lol. xD

My vancouver friend said she’s gonna introduce me to some nice BBT shops hmmm. Except I forgot her contact cuz I’m just so very smart C: Oh well I will have REAL Japanese Sushi. There’s a Jap restaurant right in front of my current residence and it’s opened by a Japanese. Not like cheap Toronto where you go to a Sushi place and everyone’s shouting Cantonese at each other lolol. Except Japanese are really strict or something so nothing’s on the house ;( There goes my complimentary Miso soup and ice cream. !sob

I brought my laptop along but my plug is 3-some and the only outlet in my room is 2-holed (not to mention broken and lacking power). So I hunted around the house today and finally found a 3-hole outlet. It happens to be above the couch in the lounge facing the bathroom. So currently I’m sitting in the freezing lounge on the couch facing the bathroom. I must say the pleasent smell in the air is very inspirational. +nod+

My wireless card randomly picked up some unsecured wireless internet in the area. So I’m leeching off someone’s internet right now +halo+ Too bad for whoever it is hehe. This net is really slow though, despite the strong signal I’m getting. =( A jpg file takes a minute to load x_o; In all of that I refrained from going to neopets hehe. I put my status on hiatus. LET’S KEEP IT THAT WAY KKK. Unless I get unfrozen which I highly doubt but still am working towards. Yay for contradictory goals. ;)

I spent the whole day at Shilin’s today w00t. She has a massive room and comfy blanket and pillows ;-; and pretty artbooks ;-;! I like her cat… the small one that loves to jump off the balcony when chances permit. And we had crabs and fried chicken wings and yummy. (Oh and the other cat wanted to drink the chicken soup ;o lol) Then we spent most of the day in the computer room (surprise eh?) listening to songs on her PWNFUL STEREOS. D:! I tried to make her do collabs with me and these happened. D:

	I took up too much space and Shilin didn’t have any room to draw lol
	This one looked like something she drew before so she ended up drawing birds all over
	Then I left too much room and she didn’t know what to draw o-o;;
	And in the end chibis worked their wonders. (omg small hands Weirin xDDD)

Now time to read that lab that I planned to read erm.. 2 days ago. @_@;;

Norton Systemworks 2003 is the most annoying non-adware program to uninstall D:<! I had to read some help document from symantec’s official site and go through my registry files to completely remove it. Now I have an annoying balloon that reminds me of my lack of an antivirus program. xD Anybody have one that I can eh, borrow? xD

I went to visit my middle school teacher with my friend today. We got there just before lunch ended. But guess that, the front gate was locked o_O; There was a buzzer on the wall, and some office person asked us for our names. So my friend gave his name, even though nobody knows how to spell it. The office clerk didn’t ask any questions and opened the door. It was the most redundent and pointless security measure I’ve ever seen. I went to ask where my old homeroom teacher was, and the office person thought I was a student in the middle school xD. (Do I really look that young?! o_O) I told her I was a visitor, and she’s like, oh you can’t visit now. You have to wait until 3:10 when school is out. She told me my homeroom teacher was on leave (having baby boy) D: So I said okay we will be back later and left the office… and went upstairs xDDDD! Psh it’s not like I don’t know my way around haha. I went through every room and located all my teachers. Since they were in class, my friend and I went to have lunch while waiting for school to finish. I dragged him to Winners in that mall and shopped around. (haha poor guy) At 3 we went back, BUT ALL THE TEACHERS DISAPPEARED. D: I only saw one of them in the hallway, who, miraculously, recognized me and even called out my name o-o! I must’ve really not changed much lol. We talked for eh, 2 minutes, then she had to go. I wondered around the hallway but couldn’t find any other teachers, so we just went home. I really wanted to see my old homeroom teacher ;( I guess I will have to go back in September before my class starts.

On our way home, we were talking on the subway. Then at some stop, an old man got on, and randomly stuck out his hand between me and my friend to hold onto the bar, right at our eye levels. So we were both laughing like heck while trying to talk with a random arm sticking out between our faces. haha.

Overall it’s a fun day :D I miss my middle school *_*

Went to anime north 2006 on saturday with Shilin and MJ. OMG COSPLAYERS. We saw a couple fat Tifas and a couple flat tifas. And a LOT of bleach cosplayers, though I have no idea who they are since I’ve never read the manga or watched the anime. +prepares to be bombarded by MJ+ A lot of Naruto and FF7 characters too. The funniest one I saw was two Chiis, Elda and Freya, except “Elda” was twice as big as “Freya”, totally destroying the effect.

I think I’m going to cosplay next year if I go, maybe as a Sohee? But shilin wants me to cosplay Yuuko from xxxholic. @_@;;

I bought Tsubasa manga vol 8, yay! :D

Now time to slave myself away in editing this layout =_=
